Because “everything she does is criticised,” Meghan Markle “feels under siege.”

Meghan Markle reportedly feels that every move she makes is met with criticism, as she continues to face scrutiny over her upcoming and previous projects, it is claimed.

Since stepping down as a senior member of the British Royal Family four years ago, Meghan has tried her hand at a number of projects with varying degrees of success.

Royal author, Tom Quinn, told the Mirror: “With news that the couple’s Netflix contract may be under threat, along with the mockery that greeted the launch of her online brand, Meghan feels very much under siege.”

Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, signed a five-year deal with Netflix after quitting the Firm, worth millions of pounds, and it is up for renewal in 2025. Although the Duchess is set to launch a brand new show soon there has been no public news on whether their contract will be renewed next year.

Hot off the heels of launching her brand, ‘American Riviera Orchard’, Meghan Markle broke the news that she was crafting a series with the TV streaming giant aimed at “celebrating the joys of cooking and gardening, entertaining and friendship”.

Despite the upcoming launch of a new show, the royal author also claims Harry and Meghan are struggling because of recent setbacks. He said: “There is a growing rift between Harry and Meghan caused by Meghan’s increasing concern that her life is not going in the direction she had planned – she loves media attention and hates the fact that surveys suggest she and Harry are no longer of much interest to the American public.

“Meghan suffered a setback after her podcast, Archetypes, was dropped by Spotify last summer, after just 12-episodes following their £15.5million deal.

In a joint statement, Archewell Audio and Spotify said they had “mutually agreed to part ways” and were “proud of the series we made together”.

It had originally topped podcast charts for Spotify in several markets and scooped the top podcast award at the People’s Choice Award in Los Angeles. Spotify executive Bill Simmons, however, launched a scathing attack on the couple, labelling them “f****** grifters” in his own podcast.
