Barcelona winger Raphinha has been offered to Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window.
That is according to journalist Dean Jones in GiveMeSport, who has added Tottenham’s stance on Raphinha.
So, what has been reported about Tottenham Hotspur and Raphinha? Let’s take a look.
Barcelona winger Raphinha pushed forwards Tottenham Hotspur
Well, according to journalist Dean Jones in GiveMeSport, Barcelona and Brazil international winger Raphinha is being pushed towards Tottenham Hotspur for a potential January transfer window.
Jones has added that Tottenham have not taken “the bait” and do not want to bring the former Leeds United winger to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
My View: Tottenham Hotspur do not need Raphinha
In my view, Tottenham Hotspur do not need to sign Raphinha from Barcelona in the January transfer window.
While Raphinha is a very good player, he is not someone that Spurs are desperately looking for at the moment.
Tottenham have enough wingers/wide players. Dejan Kulusevski is playing well for Spurs, and Brennan Johnson is also making an impact.
Yes, there have been injury concerns, but I do not think that for a few weeks, Tottenham should sign a £198,0000-a-week (Salary) 27-year-old winger on a permanent contract.
Having said that, if Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy does decide to splash the cash and brings in the Brazil international winger this month even on a loan deal, then I have to say that it would not be a bad signing.
Described as “extraordinary” by Barcelona head coach Xavi, Raphinha did well in the Premier League when he was at Leeds.
The winger made 65 appearances in the Premier League while he was on the books of Leeds. Raphinha scored 17 goals and gave 12 assists in those games.
Raphinha has scored three goals and given five assists in 15 La Liga matches and has given one assist in three UEFA Champions League matches for Barcelona this season.
