LA Knight managed to defeat Santos Escobar on WWE SmackDown (July 26, 2024), but the Mexican teamed up with Logan Paul to attack “The Megastar” on the way to SummerSlam: Cleveland.

LA Knight began his preparation for SummerSlam: Cleveland by facing Santos Escobar one-on-one on WWE SmackDown (July 26, 2024).

“The Megastar” got Logan Paul to sign a contract for a match for the United States Championship at “The Biggest Party of the Summer” a week ago . However, before facing the most important match of his career so far, he faces the leader of Legado del Fantasma in search of settling the differences they have had since they competed in a Money In The Bank qualifying match .

LA Knight vs Santos Escobar

LA Knight starts the fight by quickly taking down his opponent to subdue him on the canvas. Santos Escobar tries to react, but Knight does not release his hold on his left arm and then manages to take him down. Elektra Lopez cannot believe that the Mexican still has no time to respond. Santos escapes from his opponent’s hands at the top of the corner, and this allows him to deliver the first blows of the fight. Escobar suplexes his opponent to slam him hard against the canvas.

“The Megastar” causes Escobar to be unable to properly lock down a Sharpshooter because he reaches the bottom rope. This allows LA to take down his opponent, but he is immediately knocked down against the middle rope. Escobar distracts the referee so that Elektra can slap Knight, and then LA is punished with a “619”. All of this allows the Mexican to take control of the match, only for Knight to surprise him by attacking with a “Neckbreaker”. Escobar responds to this with a “Backbreaker”, but his cover does not progress.

LA Knight shakes off Escobar’s blows and knocks him down with a “DDT”; he counts to two. Elektra intervenes again in the fight, feigning to enter the ring, something that distracts LA. Even so, Knight manages to knock Escobar down with a “Powerslam” after receiving a “Back Elbow”. Elektra distracts the referee again, a moment that Logan Paul takes advantage of to appear and tries to cost Knight the fight. However, LA Knight manages to escape a “Phantom Driver” to finish Santos Escobar with a “BFT”. Victory for LA Knight on WWE SmackDown ( July 26, 2024 )!

After the match, Logan Paul came to the ring to attack L.A. Knight . Santos Escobar recovered to join the current United States Champion and between the two, they left “The Megastar” lying on the canvas.
