According to Forbes , Kim Kardashian’s net worth is estimated at $1.7 billion and she ranks 5th in the Top 10 highest-earning celebrities in the world.

The majority of Kim Kardashian’s money comes from her  clothing and apparel brand Skims.

She has built several successful businesses after becoming a household name through reality  TV .

Throughout her career, Kim Kardashian has used her reality TV fame to become one of the most successful businesswomen in the world, building an estimated fortune of $1.7 billion — according to Forbes .

The Kardashian family first rose to fame when her father, Robert Kardashian Sr., was OJ Simpson’s attorney in the 1990s.

As a young woman, Kardashian worked as a stylist for Brandy Norwood in the early 2000s, then worked as an assistant to her friend Paris Hilton and occasionally appeared on Hilton’s show The Simple Life .

Kardashian and her two sisters, Khloé and Kourtney, eventually opened the DASH clothing store in Calabasas, California, and later opened locations in New York City’s SoHo and Miami, Florida.

However, the biggest game changer in Kardashian’s career was the launch of her family’s reality television series Keeping Up With the Kardashians in 2007.

The show catapulted Kardashian and her family to a level of fame that eventually led to her current status as a billionaire and cultural icon.

Skims worth $4 billion as of July 2023

Kardashian launched the clothing and apparel brand Skims in 2019. The brand’s line features unique silhouettes, like a pair of asymmetrical shorts that can be worn with thigh-high slits.

In July 2023, The New York Times reported that Skims raised $270 million in a new round of funding, bringing the company’s valuation to $4 billion. In 2022, the brand was valued at $3.2 billion.

Kardashian’s business partner and Skims CEO Jens Grede told the Times the company was profitable and said he hoped to eventually take the company public.

Forbes estimates that Kardashian owns at least a third of Skims, estimating the $270 million funding round added about $500 million to her net worth.

Kim Kardashian makes money from her family’s arranged reality TV series

Keeping Up With the Kardashians ran for 20 seasons from 2007 to 2021.

In 2017, The Hollywood Reporter cited industry sources as saying that Jenner and her daughters received $4.3 million annually for Keeping Up With the Kardashians .

The family eventually moved their reality TV operations to Hulu , launching The Kardashians in March 2022. Khloé Kardashian told Variety that all family members will earn equal salaries for the series, saying they are “all equal.”

Variety reported, citing unnamed sources, that the family’s deal with Hulu is worth nine figures.

Kardashian launches skin care line

Kardashian launched her own cosmetics line, KKW Beauty, in 2017 with a contouring kit, People reported.

In June 2020, cosmetics company Coty agreed to buy a 20% stake in KKW for $200 million, valuing the company at $1 billion.

Then, in 2021, Kardashian announced that KKW would be closing to launch an entirely new brand.

She launched SKKN by Kim — a skincare line that will launch at $575 for the full nine-piece collection in June 2022.

Kardashian enters the world of investing

In September 2022, Kardashian announced that she would be forming a private equity firm called SKKY, along with Jay Sammons, with her mother Kris Jenner listed as a partner.

According to a press release, the company plans to invest in “consumer products, digital and e-commerce, consumer media and entertainment, and hospitality and luxury.”

While Kardashian and Sammons declined to confirm the amount to Fortune, the publication reported that SKKY is looking to raise $1 billion to invest in businesses.

Kardashian’s mobile game is also a huge success

In a July 2016 Forbes cover story , the publication reported that the game had been downloaded 45 million times, generating $160 million and earning Kardashian an estimated $45 million in the process.

Kardashian has an emoji app too

Kardashian launched “Kimoji” — an app that gives users access to hundreds of Kim Kardashian-themed emojis — in late 2015.

The app, which Fortune reported in 2016 was priced at $1.99, reached the No. 1 spot on Apple’s App Store’s paid apps list in February 2016.

According to Fortune , the app also made it into Apple’s top 50 highest-grossing apps at the time.

In 2019, the app developer sued Kardashian for $300 million, accusing her of cutting into his profits. Kardashian won the lawsuit in 2020, according to Fortune .

Kim Kardashian owns a variety of real estate properties

According to Architectural Digest , the first home Kardashian bought was a condo in Beverly Grove, Los Angeles in 2005, which she eventually sold for $885,000 in 2010.

Amid her divorce from ex-husband Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, Kardashian bought his stake in their Hidden Hills home for $23 million in 2021.

According to Architectural Digest , the former couple bought a Bel Air mansion for $9 million in 2013, then sold it for $17.8 million in 2017.

Kardashian also bought Cindy Crawford’s former Malibu home for $70.4 million in 2022.

A cover story on the February 2022 issue of Vogue reported that Kardashian has two other real estate projects in the works, with architect Tadao Ando building her a home in Palm Springs and architect Kengo Kuma designing her a glass and wood lake house.

Kardashian has a car collection estimated to be worth millions of dollars

Photos published by TMZ in April 2023 showed a row of matching gray cars outside Kardashian’s Hidden Hills home, with their estimated value at around $2 million.

Kardashian previously showcased some of her favorite cars in a 2022 interview with Vogue .

All of Kardashian’s cars are gray to match her house, Kardashian said in an interview with Vogue magazine .

In the video, she shows off a Mansory Lamborghini Urus, a Rolls-Royce Ghost, and her favorite Maybach sedan.

Kardashian has also taken on various acting projects over the years, such as a voice role in the film Paw Patrol .

She also appeared in American Horror Story: Delicate alongside Emma Roberts and Cara Delevingne.
