Extreme heat in China causes cars to “swell”

Cars in China have developed a bulge due to the scorching heat, which some people are calling pregnant cars. Actually, this bulge is the protective paint film on the car which is swelling up leaving the metal surface due to the heat.
Global warming has resulted in drastic changes in temperature worldwide, with extreme weather events becoming more frequent and severe. Recently, social media users posted images of ‘Pregnant Cars’, claiming that this phenomenon is due to an extreme heat wave in China.

If you are confused about what “pregnant cars” are, and whether it is a new type of car on the market or if cars can actually be pregnant, let us inform you that it is a sarcastic way of referring it by one of the ‘X’ users.

Pregnant cars are nothing but locally manufactured cars whose paint has bulged due to high temperature. This bulged paint layer on the car gives the illusion that the car is pregnant. Sharing the video of many such cars on social media, one user wrote, “No joke! Made-in-China Cars get “pregnant” when it’s too hot.” The video has gone viral on social media with over 357.2K views.

In the video, you can see cars having bulged paint layers on the front while some of the cars also had bulges all over them.

Users’ reactions to the post:

“Can’t they just use regular paint? WTH is going on,” said one user. Another commented, “? How is it possible due to heat?”

A third user sarcastically said, “As long as these cars deliver another baby car I have no problem with it.”

“Haha, that’s a hilarious way to describe it! Totally agree, it’s important to be mindful of the hot weather and take care of our Made-in-China cars,” wrote another user.
