He filed from divorce from wife Scarlett Johansson back in December after just two years of marriage.
And now actor Ryan Reynolds has discussed his painful split from the actress for the first time.
‘Anyone who gets divorced goes through a lot of pain, but you come out of it,’ the 34-year-old actor tells Details magazine.

‘I’m not out of it yet. At all. But I sense that as I do come through it, there’s optimism. How can there not be?’
However, the break up seems to have put the star off tying the knot again.
‘I don’t think I want to get married again,’ he admits. ‘But you always re-evaluate these things.
‘Any kind of crisis can be good. It wakes you up. I gotta say, I’m a different person than I was six months ago.’
But even dating at the moment seems ‘alien’ to Ryan, despite having been in relationships since high school.
‘Some people look at that as a good thing,’ he says. ‘I think wiser people might see that as a house of cards.’
The actor married Scarlett in Canada back in 2008.
The couple were rarely photographed together and made a point of never discussing their personal relationship.
‘I’ll say this – the media wasn’t invited to my marriage, and they’re definitely not invited into the divorce,’ says Ryan, who clearly disliked the publicity his high profile relationship received.
‘My face was on the cover of magazines I’d worked very hard to prevent being in,’ he says, adding that there is ‘no story and no scandal’ to the end of his marriage.
Super hero: Ryan appears in the lead role in Green Lantern, released next month
He is clearly proud of the amicable nature of his split from the actress.
‘Departing a relationship and still maintaining the idea that this is still the same person I married is a great luxury that I experienced,’ he says.
‘Thankfully I was in a relationship where two people chose to remain on the high road in every regard.’
However, Ryan is currently enjoying the single life.
‘I’m very happy not to be in a relationship right now. That’s okay. I didn’t plan on it, that’s for sure but that’s okay.’
Next month sees Ryan’s career elevate to another level with the release of his next movie, the $150 million blockbuster Green Lantern, alongside Blake Lively and Peter Sarsgaard.
