Jennifer Lawrence’s complaint about her “awful” wedding day is so relatable

We defy you to ignore Jennifer Lawrence’s amazing appearance.

The former cast member of Hunger Games turned heads on January 7 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel at the 2024 Golden Globes. (View every arrival of a celebrity here.)

Jennifer looked stunning in a black outfit with her long blonde hair down, but what really won us over was her reflection on her upcoming 2019 wedding to Cooke Maroney.

Jennifer made light of the fact that being a bride is “awful,” telling lead correspondent Keltie Knight of E! News, “It’s so stressful.” It’s not enjoyable for you. You simply wonder, “Is that person enjoying themselves?”

“It will always stick in my memory. I was so worried about the visitors being cold,” she said, “but all of my pals were lying, saying things like, ‘Everything’s okay, nobody’s cold, everything is alright.

But her mother, Karen Lawrence, was frank about it: “Your grandmother almost died, and it’s freezing outside,” said my mom.

J. Law was particularly worried about Robert De Niro, her costar, enjoying himself at the rehearsal dinner.

“As soon as I turned to see Bob, I knew that this wasn’t what he wanted to be doing because he was kind of roaming about and didn’t know anyone. I want him nowhere near here,” she recollected. “So I went up and said in a whisper, ‘Go home.’ He was friendly and kind, but I was like, ‘Go.’

She wrote, “That just genuinely made me feel better,” after he departed.

There are other things at the event that are worth appreciating besides the 33-year-old’s openness. After all, her performance in No Hard Feelings has earned her a nomination for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Musical or Comedy.

She remarked in a statement last month, “It almost feels wrong to accept such an honor—but I will!!!” She had so much pleasure making No Hard Feelings. I am very excited for some warm Chardonnay. Come on, let’s go!”
