Drummer Max Weinberg Lists His Florida Mansion

Drummer Max Weinberg, of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, has listed his six-bedroom, six-bathroom mansion in Delray Beach, Florida, for $5.25 million.

The home, which spans more than 7,700 square feet, came on the market during the last week of November, according to records. Candace Friis and Phil Friis of the Corcoran Group have the listing.

Mr. Weinberg, 68, who joined the E Street Band in 1974, and who spent 16 years as the bandleader on “Late Night With Conan O’Brien,” recently fully renovated the interior of the home, according to Ms. Friis.

“He has a really great sense of style,” she said.

The renovation includes a custom sound room with state-of-the-art equipment, Ms. Friis noted. It also has acoustic fabric walls to keep sound from traveling.

The kitchen has also been fully renovated, with a six-burner stove, an oversized island and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the landscaped grounds. There are also two butler’s kitchens, one with a full-sized refrigerator and dishwasher, according to the listing.

The Bermuda Colonial-style home was built in 2013. The style has a traditional exterior with modern interiors, Ms. Friis explained.

Mr. Weinberg bought the home in 2017 for $4 million, according to property records. And although he’s selling this property, he won’t be going far.

“Downsizing—it’s what we boomers do,” Mr. Weinberg said in an emailed statement. “We’re bullish on Delray Beach, so [we’re] staying in town in a classic Florida cottage by the sea.”

The main living area boasts beamed ceilings and direct access to the loggia with its custom screens made from Douglas Fir, as per the listing. The main floor has an open plan, with areas for dining and entertainment.

Upstairs, there are six bedrooms. The master suite offers a sitting room and bathroom with a soaking tub and separate shower, the listing said. The property also has a guest suite with a separate entrance and security system, plus a breakfast bar.

The outdoor area has a fire pit and a spa area, as well as a pool and a new swim-training machine. On the upper level, there’s a wraparound veranda, according to the listing.

“Max also loves animals and has a great dog,” Ms. Friis said. “So he installed a dog run that takes up one whole side of the house.”

Just a few blocks from the beach and Delray Beach’s main drag, Atlantic Avenue, the gated residence also has a courtyard entry, plus a separate motor court and a three-car garage.

“It’s a good-size lot for this area, so [a buyer] could do more architecturally and still have room to put the garage in the back, out of sight,” Ms. Friis explained.
