Conor McGregor provides a verdict on Tyson Fury’s blockbuster boxing rematch against Oleksandr Usyk

This coming December from the Kingdom Arena, one of the biggest rematches in heavyweight boxing history takes place when Tyson Fury looks to avenge his loss to Oleksandr Usyk.

This past May, Tyson Fury was handed his first-ever boxing loss when he was defeated by Ukrainian powerhouse, Oleksandr Usyk in a heavyweight classic fight.

Shortly after, ‘The Gypsy King’ activated his rematch clause and the two are now scheduled to rematch on December 21 at the Kingdom Arena in Saudi Arabia.

Someone that has really integrated himself into the boxing world over the past few years, is Conor McGregor. The Irishman was in attendance for their first meeting in Riyadh, and will likely be front row for their rematch.

With their first fight being extremely close, ‘The Notorious’ has given his prediction for how the second fight will go and how he expects the British boxer to step into the ring this time around.

“We’ve always got to win our fights scheduled. You certainly don’t want to be on the receiving end, especially from a guy like Oleksandr Usyk,” McGregor told talkSPORT.

“But that was a close fight also, and I thought Fury had his moments. Fury is another guy who can make great adjustments and if you look at his trilogy with Deontay Wilder, he got better as it went on.

“I’m expecting a much more dialed-in and tactical Tyson Fury, and the size difference is substantial. But Usyk is a very crafty boxer and that’s a hell of a fight. UK heavyweight boxing is in a great place,” McGregor continued.

One reason why boxing is in a very healthy place at the moment is because of Turki Alalshikh, who continues to make fights between the best fighters in the world, something the sport has struggled to do for several years now.

With Turki now also providing a more hands-on approach to the UFC, McGregor is hopeful that he can help facilitate his comeback to the Octagon.
