Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s latest trailer for their upcoming show, Polo, was released on Thursday, however, fans were not impressed over one particular thing.
The streaming giant published the new two-minute trailer on social media and captioned it: “Polo, a behind-the-scenes look at the fast-paced and glamorous world of the sport, is coming to Netflix on December 10.
“Follow elite global players on and off the field as they compete in the high-stakes U.S. Open Polo Championship. From executive producers Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sus𝑠e𝑥.”
But the latest release, which will hit the screens on December 10, saw several royal fans criticise the show over animal cruelty.
Peta, a charity that campaigns to end animal abuse, has previously criticised the sport ahead of the Duke and Duchess’s Netflix show release and said that polo is “hard on horses” and that “while it’s easy to be wooed by the glitz on display at the matches, there is no doubt that polo is more grim than glamourous for the horses”.
Fans took to social media to express their frustration, with one commenting on Youtube: “Watching a series that glorifies animal abuse is utterly despicable. The Real Housewives of Horse Abuse will be a hard pass for me. Shame on you Netflix.”
A second one wrote: “This is a celebration of animal cruelty. These aren’t athletes, they are animal abusers.”
A third one added: “I shudder to think of the animal rights abuses committed for this sport as well.”
Another commented: “This is a vile sport in terms of how they treat those animals.”
A fifth one said: “Pity those poor horses, suffering for rich men’s kicks!!”
A sixth one wrote: “Poor horses.”
However, others said they were excited about the release.
One user wrote on X: “Looks exciting. Never really known what Polo is about I but will be watching.”

A third one commented: “Never seen a polo match in real life so I’m already intrigued, and looking sizzlingly good!”
