Conor McGregor’s angry rant at DAZN has led to a change the UFC legend desired.
The Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship [BKFC] co-owner was furious after watching big winners get overlooked when it came to post-fight interviews during the promotion’s final event of 2024.
‘Notorious’ aimed an X-rated threatening message at BFKC’s broadcast partner on social media.
“DAZN, I don’t give a f***,” he tweeted. “If you don’t get our winners on the mic, we are done.”
Conor McGregor’s business partner clears up interview issue
BKFC president Dave Feldman has revealed Conor McGregor‘s anger at DAZN was misplaced.
It turns out that the fight league decided to skip interviews to stop the show from overrunning.
Regardless, McGregor’s rant worked as BKFC will ensure the fighters are interviewed at all of their events in 2025.
“He’s dead right on that but that actually wasn’t a DAZN thing,” Feldman told MMA Fighting.
“It was an our production thing. At the Hard Rock for some reason, we’re always on a timeline and we have to get out of there. It gets crazy if you go over time, I’m talking like $100,000 an hour so we had to get out on time.
“He’s dead right. So we are making some adjustments, too. Whether it’s during the next fight’s walkout, or during the break from the next fight, while we’re interviewing these guys.
“These guys do need to be seen and heard. Because that’s what [makes] them. That’s what made [Conor]. If they didn’t talk to Conor McGregor after the fights, you wouldn’t know who he is. You wouldn’t. So we have to take advantage of that and we will.”
“Obviously, DAZN is a great partner for us, and I wish he didn’t go out there like that but at the end of the day, everything’s ironed over. We understand everything, he understands everything and he’s dead right.
“We want to hear from the fighters. They just had a devastating knockout. I want to hear, ‘I’m going to knock out everybody else that I ever face.’ They want to hear that. They want to hear why, and we’re going to tell those stories, and we’re going to let them talk.”
What’s next for Conor McGregor?
McGregor hasn’t fought since breaking his leg during a trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021.
UFC boss Dana White expects his biggest star to return to the Octagon towards the end of 2025.
However, McGregor has recently been linked to boxing bouts with Logan Paul and Jake Paul.
Right now, he seems to be seriously contemplating taking a $500million exhibition in India.
The UFC has allowed McGregor to break ranks before. Famously, he crossed over to boxing and made $100million for a fight with Floyd Mayweather in 2017.
It remains to be seen if White will sanction a fight with one of the Paul Brothers.
