Oleksandr Usyk should walk away from boxing and retire – he’s got nothing left to prove in the sport.
That’s the view of British prospect Frazer Clarke, who has had his say on the unbeaten Ukrainian following his back-to-back wins over Tyson Fury.
Usyk has completed it all at heavyweight, but could fight on
Usyk became undisputed champion by beating the ‘Gypsy King’ last May, and looked to put an end to their rivalry when the pair met in December in a huge heavyweight rematch.
And he did exactly that with another breathtaking display to pick up a points victory and retain the unified titles he holds in addition to his unbeaten record.
‘The Cat’ has now beaten Fury twice, Anthony Joshua twice and Daniel Dubois and is barely left with any contender to tick off of his stunning heavyweight resume since switching to the division.
Dubois currently holds the IBF title and clambered in the ring issuing a call-out for a huge rematch later this year.
Usyk has yet to decide on his next opponent, but is expected to return later in 2025 after a break from ring action.
But British heavyweight Clarke isn’t sure any option remaining will be enough to see him continue fighting, given his accomplishments.
Asked whether he wants to see a trilogy fight between Usyk and Fury on talkSPORT’s Hawksbee & Jacobs, he said: “I don’t think so.
“I wouldn’t mind seeing Usyk hang the gloves up, I don’t know who else he goes on to prove or do anything.
“But do I want to see Fury vs AJ? Absolutely and I’m a Brit and a big boxing fan.
“But with Usyk, I’m not sure who even gets him out of bed now. He’s beaten AJ, Fury and Dubois.

“They are the top dogs. Is there any point going and fighting Deontay Wilder?
“He’s not in great form as the other big name, so I would like to see Usyk sail into the sunset now.
“Yeah he’s one of the greatest to have ever done it to be honest.”
On the verdict of the judges, who handed Usyk a unanimous decision win, Clarke added: “I’ve not watched it again round-for-round.
“But looking at overall, I thought Usyk won the fight and I thought he won it convincingly.
“But I get if you are Tyson Fury, you can say that is way too wide.

“For me though, Usyk did enough to win. When he did win the rounds, he won them more convincingly than Tyson.
“Take nothing away from Tyson, he was better than he was last time and he’s a British legend.”
Usyk is considered the current greatest heavyweight as well as an all-time great and hardly has any doubters left to prove wrong.
The Ukrainian is now 37-years-old and is considered to be in the twilight years of his career.
He has teased a switch back down to cruiserweight, where he could seek becoming undisputed champion in the division for a second time in his career.
But is unclear how much the burning desire would be to start from scratch given his phenomenal career is coming to a close.
