Picture this: You’re the new kid on the NBA block, and whoops – you’ve snagged LeBron James‘ locker by mistake! That’s the funny mix-up Norris Cole stumbled into when he started with the Miami Heat. Drafted by the Chicago Bulls in 2011 before being traded, Cole shared this locker room tale on Gil’s Arena that had everyone cracking up.
Cole’s initiation into the Heat was memorable, to say the least. LeBron James, known for having not one but two lockers, got a surprise finding Cole in one of his spots. This led to a light-hearted prank by LeBron, which Cole only realized after returning from practice.
Norris Cole recalled the incident on Gil’s Arena:
When I first got to the Heat… LeBron always got two lockers… So they put me right next to Bron. He only had one locker… He walks in.. made a funny look… After practice I come downstairs all my stuff’s gone, to the locker over there.
This prank sheds light on the fun yet respectful vibe in the Heat’s locker room. LeBron James chose not to confront Cole head-on but went for a playful and friendly approach instead.
But Cole’s stint with the Miami Heat wasn’t all about jokes. He was part of the team’s back-to-back NBA championship wins in 2012 and 2013, soaking in wisdom from legends like LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. He averaged 6.2 points, and 2 assists in 19 minutes played per game.
LeBron and AD spoil Luka’s triple-double for second-straight win at home
The Los Angeles Lakers, led by LeBron James and Anthony Davis, overpowered the Dallas Mavericks in a 127-110 victory yesterday. Davis nearly achieved his second triple-double in three games, contributing significantly with 28 points, 12 rebounds, and 9 assists. LeBron added 25 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists of his own, marking a stellar team performance that secured the Lakers’ fourth win in six games.
D’Angelo Russell greatly benefitted from Davis’s exceptional playmaking, scoring a team-high 29 points on an excellent 5-7 from the three-point line. Meanwhile, Luka Doncic‘s return from injury with a triple-double, featuring 33 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists, highlighted his prowess but wasn’t enough against the Lakers’ onslaught.
The Lakers demonstrated an aggressive and dominant offense, shooting 53.8% from the field. The Mavericks struggled from beyond the arc, with head coach Jason Kidd acknowledging their missed opportunities. This was a much-needed win for the Lakers, as they hope to build on their winning streak as they host the Brooklyn Nets (11th in the East) on Friday night.
