UFC boss Dana White has provided a new update on Conor McGregor’s comeback.
‘Notorious’ hasn’t fought since breaking his leg during a trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier in July 2021.
The former dual-weight champion was supposed to return to the Octagon in June 2024, but a toe injury derailed his fight with Michael Chandler before Dana White claimed Conor McGregor wouldn’t compete until the fall of 2025.
In recent weeks, rumors about boxing bouts with Logan Paul and KSI have been gathering pace online.
Dana White rules out Conor McGregor fighting Logan Paul or KSI
White remained silent as McGregor talked up a $500million fight with one for the Paul Brothers.
The UFC CEO kept his lips sealed when KSI emerged as a potential opponent for McGregor.
White has finally issued a public response to ‘Mystic Mac’ being courted by the world of boxing once again after making $100million to face Floyd Mayweather in 2017.
“No,” the MMA mogul replied when asked if McGregor is going to fight Paul during an appearance on the Pardon My Take podcast.
“No, no, no,” White added when the prospect of McGregor vs KSI was brought up.
“Hopefully, Conor McGregor returns in the fall of this year.”
KSI’s manager reveals Conor McGregor talks
In contrast to what White is saying, KSI’s team is confident they will fight McGregor this year.
Mams Taylor – Misfits Boxing guru and KSI’s manager – recently revealed that serious negotiations are ongoing for the matchup.
“There are talks taking place, and talks are leading to more talks,” Taylor told talkSPORT.
“I know [McGregor] is interested for a fact. I think no fight makes more sense than this fight for Conor.
“He was truly unbelievable in the days where he fought Jose Aldo. He’s a tough guy, he’s a tough challenge for anyone and I think now with the back and forth, it makes sense.
“I think this will break records and be in the top five biggest-selling pay-per-views of all time. I think all sides are motivated by what it can do, they can both sell.
“I think it will be a massive, massive fight and I can’t think of a fight that would be bigger for Conor in terms of numbers.”
“There are some complications and hurdles to overcome. But we are definitely going for it, and I also think it’s a stadium fight.”
