‘Family first, and always’: Jay Z debuts epic seven-minute music video for Family Feud with a star-studded cast including Beyonce and Blue Ivy.

And Jay Z, 48, used his words to confess his undying devotion to his family during a star-studded music video for his latest song Family Feud, released on his streaming service Tidal on Friday afternoon.

The nearly eight-minute video directed by Ava DuVernay spans between 400 years and features appearances by Beyonce, Blue Ivy, Mindy Kaling, Michael B. Jordan and Thandie Newton, to name a few.

The video – scored by musical powerhouse Flying Lotus – spans across 400 years of an infidelity which tore through a family and worked it’s way back through various generations to 2018.

Leading ladies America Ferrera, Jessica Chastain, Brie Larson, Niecy Nash, Constance Wu and Rosario Dawson all make appearances in the video which also features performances by Omari Hardwick and David Oyelowo.

The heavy political undertones of the video included background commentary, ‘At a time, mind you, when some thought that making america great meant making us afraid of each other.’

The opening line of the song quickly jumps into the background, ‘Nobody wins when the family feuds.’

Most of the short video takes place from the inside of a church as both Jay and his wife could be seen sitting in confessionals separately.

Beyonce seemed to be wearing more than just her Sunday best for the occasion as she rocked some rather rather grandiose looks.

The artist said that his scars from his past led him to push away his wife, which she later addressed in her album Lemonade.

Jay told the NYT that: ‘You have to survive. So you go into survival mode, and when you go into survival mode, what happens? You shut down all emotions. So, even with women, you gonna shut down emotionally, so you can’t connect. … In my case, like, it’s deep. And then all the things happen from there: infidelity,’ he said.

He has never named the woman he cheated with. Beyonce has called her ‘Becky with the good hair.’
