A peek inside the $21 million Montecito property owned by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry

Following their 2020 move out of their British home Frogmore Cottage, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle settled in Montecito.

Two years ago, the pair paid AU$21 million for a 16-bedroom estate in a posh neighborhood of California, and now the Duchess is talking about how their new family home has affected her life.

In a recent cover story with The Cut, Meghan got candid about how the sprawling residence is “calm and healing,” and ultimately, makes her “feel free”.

“We did everything we could to get this house,” she told the publication. “Because you walk in and go … Joy. And exhale. And calm. It’s healing. You feel free.”

Meghan disclosed that she and Prince Harry had simply seen the exterior of the house, not peeking inside, because they had recently parted ways with the Royal Family, were unemployed, and didn’t think they would be able to afford it.

A huge pool, a tennis court, rose gardens, a chicken coop, and a spacious patio with a wood-fired fireplace and BBQ are among the property’s exterior attractions.

In the end, the pair fell in love with the land and bought it quickly. Since then, they have moved there with their two kids, Archie and Lilibet, and made it their family’s home.

With a sauna, gym, wine cellar, five-car garage, games room, arcade, library, gym, and office that Meghan and her husband share, the home offers plenty of space for the kids to grow.

The bedrooms and main living areas of the house had huge windows that let in plenty of natural light and were decorated with traditional wooden beams when the couple bought it.

The property has a tea house and a two-bedroom guest house in addition to the main building.

The residence is purportedly the first home Meghan and Harry have ever purchased, and other notable homeowners of the upscale Californian enclave include Oprah Winfrey, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Ellen DeGeneres.
