NFL Player Derek Carr Lists His $9 Million Nevada Mansion for Sale

Now that Derek Carr has taken his talents to The Big Easy as quarterback of the New Orleans Saints, he no longer needs the Nevada digs he resided in while helming the Las Vegas Raiders. So, he’s flipped the modern Tuscan-style mansion tucked away in the hillside community of Henderson back on the market, asking a smidge under $9 million—or around $5.4 million more than he originally paid.

Records show Carr and his wife Heather doled out $3.6 million for the property in winter 2019 while it was still under construction and then fully customized the two-level dwelling with personalized touches. Completed in 2020, the stucco and stone-accented structure rests behind walls and gates on over a third of an acre within the exclusive Southern Highlands Community and features five bedrooms and seven baths in roughly 8,600 square feet of living space. There’s also a two-bedroom, two-bath guesthouse spanning 1,000 square feet, plus an attached eight-car garage with a Tesla charger.

Some of the room’s highlights are a double-height living room with a floating linear fireplace and two chandeliers made of crystal cages, and a dining space that’s flanked by an office. The gourmet kitchen, complete with quartz countertops, a large eat-in island, premium stainless appliances, a walk-in pantry, and a breakfast nook, is connected to a quaint den by the fire that is situated off a covered balcony.

The luxurious main suite is located upstairs and features a sitting space beside the fireplace, a walk-in closet, a private balcony, and an opulent bathroom with double vanities, a standalone soaking tub, and a spacious open shower. There’s a well equipped gym and a golf simulator elsewhere.

The facilities extend outdoors to the turf-covered grounds, which have two pools (one featuring a waterslide), a sports court, and an outdoor terrace perfect for socializing and relaxing with a built-in BBQ and fire pit. As per the ad, which is owned by Coldwell Banker Premier Realty’s Stan Hicks, the new owner will also be able to buy a Southern Highlands Golf Club community membership.

Carr was originally selected in the second round of the 2014 NFL draft by the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders, where the 33-year-old native of California set franchise records for passing yards, completions, attempts, and touchdown passes. Carr is the younger brother of former NFL quarterback and current NFL Network analyst David Carr. However, the four-time Pro Bowler was released by the organization in the latter weeks of the 2022 season after losing his starting position. He then signed a four-year, $150 million contract with the New Orleans Saints.
