Michael Jordan’s ex-wife responds to his son’s controversial post

NBA legend Michael Jordan has mostly kept quiet about the well-publicized life of Marcus Jordan, one of his sons.

Marcus had an intermittent romantic involvement with Larsa Pippen, the spouse of his father’s former teammate, Scottie Pippen of the Chicago Bulls. After “amicably” splitting four months prior, Larsa announced on Entertainment Tonight in July 2024 that they were no longer dating.

One month after their split, in August 2024, Marcus was seen snorting a powdered substance while on vacation in Paris. Ashley Stevenson, a model, who was his new lover, was with him.

Images from the event rapidly went viral on social media, as followers expressed their worry for Marcus, 34, who had previously struggled with underage drinking and other problems.

He shared a string of images on Instagram on Friday, labeling them with lines from Drake’s recently released song, “No Face.”

Marcus and his mother, Juanita Vanoy Jordan, were shown in one of the photos. “Love you, XO, mom,” was the comment Juanita used when she posted it on her Instagram Story.

After a 17-year marriage, Juanita and Michael Jordan got divorced in 2006, with Juanita receiving a $168 million settlement.

Marcus, their daughter Jasmine Jordan, and their older son Jeffrey Jordan all continue to see her as a constant in their lives.

Marcus played for the University of Central Florida (UCF) for three successful years. He averaged 12.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game.

In contrast, Jeffrey played for Illinois and UCF during his five years in college, scoring 1.6 points and dishing out 1.2 assists a game.

Despite the failure of his basketball career, Marcus now operates a well-known footwear store in Orlando. Juanita owns her own company, an upscale internet store.
